John Mast Construction was founded in 1960 by John Mast, who had honed his construction skills working alongside experienced carpenters. Committed to his Christian values of honesty and service, John prioritized customer satisfaction at all costs. In 1974, he paused the business to serve as an orphanage administrator in El Salvador, returning in 1979 to resume construction work and teach his son, Thomas Mast.
Thomas eventually took over the business, maintaining his father's Christian values. Today, John Mast Construction is being run by the third generation, with Thomas's oldest son, Randall Mast, becoming an owner alongside Mahlon Hershberger. The company's enduring relationships with multiple generations of families reflect its commitment to providing quality construction and outstanding service.

"I grew up watching my Grandpa and Dad work & operate John Mast Construction. I always looked forward to spending my days on the job sites with my dad. I started working with the crew the summer of 2001 and I worked summers while I was in high school. After graduating in 2004, I started working full time at JMC. In 2019, Mahlon and I bought the business and I became a third generation owner, with the dreams of my 2 boys, Beckham& Caspian, continuing to keep the family business going! I always loved working alongside my Grandpa & Dad, and seeing projects go from sketches on paper to fully completed projects. Even though I have been doing construction most of my life, we still love finding new projects and facing new challenges! There is never a boring day, and helping customers' dreams & ideas come to life is the best part of the job. I never get tired of hearing stories of jobs my Grandpa did before I was born! I'm excited to keep the traditions and relationships going that we started generations ago!"

"Hi there, my name is Mahlon Hershberger. I grew up in Central Pennsylvania and I'm the second to the oldest of 9 siblings. My dad owned a construction company so I grew up watching, helping him do a variety of building projects. After I finished school I went to work on the crew with my dad, older brother, and the other crew members. When I turned 21 I became a foreman and have worked in some type of construction management since then. In 2015 I moved to Indiana and married my wife, and God has blessed us with 2 beautiful children. I worked for John Mast Construction for 3 years before buying into the company. Our goal is to turn your ideas and dreams for your next building project into a reality, and to make the process a smooth and enjoyable one. We are committed to deliver a high quality project that exceeds our clients' expectations while staying within established budgets and timelines. I look forward to meeting and working with you on your next construction project."
